Hipobuy Spreadsheet Parcel Cover

Before you pay: sellers, items, catalogues and Hipobuy as the agent

If a lost parcel returns your postage and little else, the decisions before the parcel matter more. This page goes through them in the order you make them.

Weighing up a seller when a lost parcel returns so little

A seller cannot lose your parcel in transit, but a seller can send the wrong thing, and that turns into a returns question rather than a cover one. Look at how long the shop has traded, how many orders it shows, whether buyers posted their own photos, and whether the listing's photos look like one product or a collage of several.

Hipobuy's Search Terms are explicit that it "does not authenticate or evaluate the quality or authenticity of the products". Its warehouse checks quantity, colour and size; judging the seller is your job.

Picking items you could afford to lose

Choosing an item through the cover lens means asking three things. How much does it cost compared with what it weighs? Will it survive a rough journey? Does it have a battery, liquid or anything else that narrows the routes?

Light, expensive and fragile is the combination the free cover handles worst. Size is a separate trap: the warehouse does not check size errors, and Hipobuy's return window is short, five days counted from "Warehoused", so check the size chart before ordering rather than after.

The comparator's damage run shows what a fragile item would cost you without paid cover, because the free cover returns nothing for it.

Checks worth doing before the parcel bill

Most problems that cover cannot fix are visible before you pay. Counterfeit purchases are banned by Hipobuy's Service Terms, which warn of declined orders, suspended accounts and withheld funds; prohibited items are excluded from cover anyway.

  • The route: free cover included or not, and whether Customs Seizure Protection is offered.
  • The item: allowed on the route, and photographed in good condition.
  • The storage clock: 90 days free from "Warehoused".
  • The claim window: a week from signing (7 days), or 45 days from dispatch for a parcel that never turns up.

Signs that a product catalogue is looked after

Choosing a spreadsheet site is mostly about upkeep. A catalogue worth using shows when its pages were last checked, its links still lead somewhere, it says who runs it, and it does not pretend to rank agents or vouch for products it has never handled.

Apply the same test here. Every figure on this site carries a date, the official sources are linked, the operator is named on the about page, and nothing here says which agent is "best".

An agent's payout rules say more than its fee page

Choosing an agent usually starts with fees. A more revealing start is its payout rules. Does it publish a table for loss, damage and customs? Does the free cover return goods or only postage? Is the premium shown before you commit? Does a payout come back as money or as store credit?

Hipobuy answers most of these in public: tables yes, free cover postage only, premium only at the submit page, payouts in coins. A trustworthy agent is one whose answers you can find before you need them.

What Hipobuy offers that others may not, and its blind spots

What every agent shares: someone in China buys for you, a warehouse receives and photographs the goods, and a carrier you never meet delivers them. What Hipobuy does differently is concrete. There is no agent service fee, anyone can open the estimator without an account and it marks cover route by route, some routes include a free cover with a published formula, and it sells a 20-yuan trial pack that fixes the weight before you choose a route.

When to use a different agent: if you ship to the United States, Australia or Canada and want cover included in the price, if you would rather be refunded in money than in store credit, or if you want to see a premium rate before you buy anything.

Other agents and their own protection terms

Other shopping agents you will also see publish their own protection terms, and they are not built the same way. Some include cover by default, some only sell it, some write separate rules for delay. Names and prices change too often for a list here to stay true.

The questions above travel well. Ask any agent what it pays for a lost parcel, a damaged one and one held by customs, what the premium is and when you see it, and whether the payout is money or credit.

If an agent cannot answer these from its own published pages, that is an answer too: you would be relying on goodwill rather than on a rule you can point to.

Your first order, from seller link to delivery

Start with the item’s exact listing and size information. The official beginner guide separates nine states; these are progress labels, not guaranteed turnaround times.

  1. Order submitted: paste the product link or complete the custom-order details, choose the variant and pay the item plus domestic shipping.
  2. Order placed: the buyer purchases from the seller. Resolve unavailable stock or price differences before proceeding.
  3. Seller shipped: wait for the domestic parcel; a seller dispatch is not international dispatch.
  4. Arrived at warehouse: the item has arrived and is awaiting processing.
  5. Inspection and storage: review the eligible QC photos and stored-item details. Request measurements or resolve discrepancies before creating a parcel.
  6. Shipping requested: select stored items, enter the destination, choose packing and a route. Review restrictions and cover terms as well as price.
  7. Parcel packed: final weight and dimensions can change the estimate; check the settlement and keep the bill.
  8. Shipped: track the international parcel and answer legitimate carrier/customs requests.
  9. Delivered and confirmed: inspect with the courier where possible, save evidence and report an issue promptly.

Ordinary free storage runs for 90 days from each item’s Warehoused status; unmatched parcels have a separate 30-day clock from receipt. Combining items does not reset the first item’s storage date. Plan both payments and review QC and packing before dispatch.

Source: Hipobuy’s beginner guide, retained official text read 16 October 2026. Timing and availability remain conditional.

Example: two purchases arriving on different days

Suppose a shirt arrives first and a pair of shoes is still with its seller. Review the shirt’s QC immediately rather than waiting for both items. Check its label, measurements, count and condition, and raise a possible return within the applicable window. Storage availability does not pause the return clock or prove that waiting is the cheapest choice.

When both items are ready, compare one combined parcel with separate submissions where useful. A shoebox can increase volume, and the chosen line may restrict particular contents. Budget the second shipping payment after the purchase costs, including relevant packing and protection charges. Decide on the actual basket and acceptable risk; an apparently generous benefit is not enough if its exclusions remove the incident you care about.
